24 hours ago SPECON strategic command lost contact with a military helicopter over the China/Usrekistahn border. The pilot reported an attack from a surface to air weapon and that the chopper was forced to make an emergency landing from damage sustained by the artillery. A final radio transmission was received from persons unknown; the message was barely audible but reported they had landed and they needed help. After that all communication with the helicopter went dark. This at least advocates the possibility that there was one or more survivors from the crash.
For the last four years the China/Usrekistahn border has been the home to General Saiem’s Rebels. This group of ex-military special forces was the General s fabled “Karakurt Shock Troops”, his most loyal soldiers, who reportedly swore a blood oath to the now exiled General. After the fall of Saiem’s regime and his exile to Africa (whereabouts now unknown),the Troops followed Directive 149 and as pre-instructed, fire teams then strategically fought SPECON in engagements designed to slow down the takeover of the capital, all the while other squads moved significant ordinance, weapons and supplies to the mountain regions on the border. They subsequently discovered an intricate cave network running throughout the mountains and started excavating over the next 12 months, now a rat’s nest of underground barracks, and arms stockpiles litter the heavily forested border between the two countries. The “Rebels” as they are now labelled, have launched multiple terrorist attacks against Usrekistahn in Saiem’s name and vow to continue to do so until his reinstatement as Leader and return to the throne. China, whose communist government supported the General’s takeover of Usrekistahn, his hatred of the west and separation from Russia, have continued to aid the Rebels, airdropping supplies along the Chinese side of the border.
The Helicopter was carrying several military personnel as well as several Cabinet Minister on a diplomatic assignment to meet with the newly elected President of Usrekistahn.
A rescue mission has been unofficially authorised, and is to be carried out to reach the crash site and recover any surviving passengers with a priority on the Ministers. An active transponder beacon on board the chopper shows the crash site to be slightly over the Usrekistahn Border and into China, and that’s the problem – apparently they strayed off course.
The precise location of the crash is in thick forest region known to have active Rebel forces operating in the area. Despite the now peaceful alliance between the U.N (SPECON) and the New Usrekistahn Government, President Oleg will not officially authorise a rescue mission over the border. Fearing retaliation from China (who have heavily apposed SPECON and its association with the U.N in the past few years) and with no official reason for invading the Chinese airspace, the President has to deny any knowledge of the situation or risk international incident.
As such, a small SPECON team will have to covertly cross into China via the Usrekistahn border and locate the survivors with no formal acknowledgement or permission from the Chinese Government and extract them to the chopper at a pre-determined landing site in Usrekistahn.
There is a high probability the survivors may have been captured by rebels already. If this is the case time is running out. If the retrieval team are to have any hope to track down the rebels and rescue their people from the enemy, they must act fast.
