The Story
Rapid Action Incident Deployment (R.A.I.D)
Formed in mid-2011 under the highest secrecy levels afforded by NATO and contributing counties, R.A.I.D units are intended to address the “non-standard” and “Extra-terrestrial” assignments and conflicts that are cropping up across the world in worryingly increasing numbers.
Led by the steadfast Commander Gene Charles R.A.I.D. Units have already been called to several incidents which fell outside established operating parameters.
Most notoriously; the yearlong conflict with the Human Alien hybrids known as the Anarchists
These infected human hosts, controlled by an alien virus brought back on the Luna probe were the troops of the Elders who sought to take over the earth.
Also during the 2 year war known as the Shadow Conflict, R.A.I.D. units engaged in several battles with the trioxin infected zombie soldiers of former Usrekistahn army.
Building on the success of the SPECON project, R.A.I.D teams are assembled from the finest specialists the world has to offer.
R.A.I.D units are capable of operating independently from high command, in extreme conditions, and have the equipment and training needed to successfully deal with even the most exceptional circumstances.
Charles’ R.A.I.D. Units are the trained rigorously using advanced Virtual Reality Simulators and holographic technology, giving them the first-hand experience and fortitude needed to combat these extraordinary threats to humanity.
Before a cadet can attain the rank of Operator on one of the R.A.I.D. Units, they must first attend the Fort Brag Training Facility for a minimum of 2 years.
Recruits are trained vigorously, using a combination of war-games with Taser based weapons, and advanced Virtual reality simulations utilising holographic technology to give them first-hand experience on a wide verity of potential missions and battlefield strategies.
After this point they must finally face the qualifying exam. This final test is a series of simulated operations designed to test id the Recruit has the combat ability and mental stability needed to survive in the field as a R.A.I.D Operator.
Graduation is rare, failure is common, but for those who do pass this test, membership in the most specialised, secretive and highly funded fighting force on Earth is the reward…
