The location of the lab was a small Eastern European town, isolated from the prying eyes of Government bodies, it provided the Company with the privacy it needed.
Test subjects were readily available from the corrupt warden of the nearby prison.
Those prisoners without family to miss them were brought to the lab under the guise of an early parole program.
Progress was rapid, the new virus strain was incredible, with the ability to mutate human DNA in surprising and unpredictable ways.
Some of those infected became nothing more than wild, crazed animals, others however became powerful weapons.
The Director had pushed his team for results, and that aggressive style of management had paid off.
The first prototype enhanced human was ready.
The lab was closed, and the equipment, virus samples, and test subjects were loaded into unmarked trucks in preparation for delivery to the new location, a small town just outside of Prague, where the board would inspect the results first hand.
Unfortunately, due to a heavy rain storm, the convoy of trucks became stranded several miles from the town when the roads in and out became unusable due to flooding, and the convoy was forced to wait on the road side of the forest track overnight.
It was during the unexpected layover that disaster struck.
The prototype was sedated by chemicals and held in one of the trucks when a lightning strike hit.
Power was lost to the containment vehicle, and the automatic equipment used to monitor and regulate the cocktail of chemicals needed to sedate the creature was abruptly stopped.
At some point during the next 8 hours the Prototype awoke, attacked the other vehicles in the convoy and escaped.
Several of the other test subjects were also released during the fight, and now they too are missing along with samples of the Virus.
Local police uncovered the horrific scene while trying to clear the roadways after the storm.
Their calls have been intercepted and although they believe government investigators are enroute to help them, this is in fact far from the truth.
A second team have been sent by the Company to “clean” the site and remove or recover any evidence.
It is believed some of the lab team may have escaped the attack and fled into the forests, if possible, these individuals should be recovered.
Due to the remote location of the incident, any police that are investigating the area should be neutralised.
The Prototype creature has not been mentioned in any of the reports from police, but the team have been warned that should they be able to locate it, they are to try and capture it alive if possible and to destroy it only as a last resort.
