Unfortunately for Don Salvatory, the FBI had been investigating them for the last 24 months.
Finally, the feds caught a break in the case, leading agents to turn one of the underbosses against Keveeno, ultimately resulting in the individual turning states witness in the trial that brought Keveeno down.
He was sentenced to 25 years without parole, along with several of his capos under the RICO* act.
Fortunately for the Don, he was able to plan ahead for such an outcome.
Several million dollars in gold, diamonds and cash have been secretly buried in Wharton State Forest.
The sprawling 110,000 acres of wild American hardwood is the perfect hiding spot, isolated from the prying eyes of the police and the other members of the family.
This hidden hoard is his ticket to freedom, by offering a percentage to the rival Gambino crime family, Keveeno had orchestrated a hijacking of the prison bus due to deliver him and his accomplices to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution near Wharton state.
The bus and escorting police cars were faced with a roadblock of vehicles along the isolated route 206.
Shooters emerged from the forest and a vicious gun battle ensued, leaving multiple dead police offices and Mafioso’s.
The bus has now been rerouted towards Wharton State Forest where the loot is hidden.
It will be several hours before the prison reports in that the convoy never arrived, and if all goes to plan, Don Salvatory will be on a private plane heading to a nonextradition country before anyone comes looking.
